Draft
Making an investment portfolio easier to understand.

Make portfolio comparisons useful.
Draft began as a consumer app to help people understand their investment portfolios. A balance or a return percentage tells only part of the story; the comparison matters.
The consumer product let people compare their investments with the crowd and with portfolios at a similar level of risk. Performance, fees and product comparisons gave people more context for what they owned.
Adapt the product for institutional analysis.
Draft later evolved into an institutional product used to analyze millions of portfolios. The audience and scale changed. The design challenge was to help teams find useful patterns in complex financial information.
The work moved from explaining one person’s portfolio to helping teams explore a much larger set. That meant rethinking the interface around analysis while preserving the clarity of the original product.

Lead the work from research to implementation.
As the first hire and head of product and design, my work spanned user research, testing ideas, product direction, branding, interface design and front-end implementation. Working across those areas let me carry a question from a user conversation into a prototype and then into the product.
As the product shifted from consumer to institutional use, I worked across research, design and implementation to make the new direction understandable and usable.
